Mobilise was invited by the London Empowerment Partnership to develop a model of involving residents as Community Evaluators. Community evaluation seeks to understand what makes engagement empowering or disempowering from the perspective of those taking part, the residents and communities. Working with the London Borough of Bexley and Tower Hamlets, Mobilise recruited and trained residents to evaluate public engagement opportunities and then feedback to senior stakeholders their suggestions for improvement. We developed a guide for Community Evaluation and trained 14 London Boroughs so they could develop their own Community Evaluators programmes.
