Mobilise was invited to support the Head of Service at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council, in the development and delivery of transformational change within the Borough’s Youth Services. The strategy delivered was based upon a locality approach that maintains ‘universal access on an industrial scale’ and developed a step change in the culture of service delivery.

Mobilise supported the development of a nascent idea into a distinct brand, ‘Street Base’, that linked the range of activities offered to young people both within the Council and beyond as part of a single branded youth offer. Mobilise enabled the creation of a broader offer to young people through negotiation with partners’ services and organisations. Streetbase became the brand for all youth activity in Barking and Dagenham that all providers bought into.  We also supported the development of a smartcard ‘Streetbase Connect’ that allows young people to collect points for engaging in healthy activities (such as sports, use of the library, healthy school meals) and redeem those points for free photocopying, cinema tickets and other such rewards.
