Ealing Older Adults Accommodation

Local Government Adult Social CareCommunity Renewal & RegenerationHousing & NeighbourhoodIntergenerational Housing

Working for our partners, Matter Architecture, Mobilise was asked to support Ealing Council’s work on developing an Older Adults Accommodation (OAA) strategy, which will see sheltered accommodation across Ealing consolidated into three sites in Acton to deliver nearly 600 new homes.  We were asked to undertake research and calculative work to examine the likely benefits of the proposed new housing consisting of extra care housing, one bed ‘plus’, and intergenerational housing.  We undertook a literature review, developed a ‘logic model’  together with a flow chart to track the activities and outputs of the proposals. We analysed values such as potential savings, as well as the wider and harder to quantify benefits. We provided calculations expressing the likely fiscal benefits of the proposals as well an understanding of the wider public and social benefits which supported Ealing finalise plans and decisions for the programme.
