As a result of the work undertaken by Mobilise, Wormley and Turnford Big Local has a centre in which to host events, activities, advice and health surgeries that benefit the community.
Nightingale Hammerson is an independent charity that has been serving older people from the Jewish community for more than 180 years. It currently delivers a range of high-quality residential care services across two sites including individually-tailored, compassionate care for residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care.
The Project
The board identified an unmet need in the Jewish community in regard to care for older family members facing health challenges, noting that even well connected and knowledgeable families find it hard to get the advice and support they need. The board appointed Mobilise to scope out potential options for new services by conducting comprehensive research. The research explored the role Nightingale Hammerson could play in providing more support to older people in the Jewish community.
Our Approach
Mobilise carried out a blend of interviews, focus groups and desk-based research as part of the scoping exercise alongside marketplace analysis. This enabled us to gain insights into existing services, identify best practice in the UK and abroad, understand demographic trends and changes, and pinpoint opportunities for early intervention along the care pathway. We also undertook primary research with potential customers to understand their challenges and aspirations.
Using our research and analysis, we delivered a feasibility study exploring different delivery models for proposed services. We met with funders, explored potential implications for staffing, costs, resources, and timelines as well as outlining a high-level implementation plan. We developed and supported an Expert Advisory Steering Group throughout the project to ensure it developed in line with the ethos and values of the organisation.
Impact
Mobilise provided the research and evidence Nightingale Hammerson required to develop a stronger understanding of the systems and services that positively impact the lives of older people, their carers, and families. They are now well positioned to confidently design, develop and implement services in an effective, sustainable and manageable way.
