Community Investment & Partnerships Manager, SNG

Sovereign Network Group (SNG) is a housing association with stock located in London and throughout the south of England. Formed in 2023 through the merger of Sovereign Housing Association and Network Homes, SNG manages over 85,000 homes.

Mobilise developed a review process for organisations that were referred into the programme by SNG, followed by creation of a detailed action plan based on each organisation’s needs and priorities.

The Project

As part of their commitment to provide support to their communities, SNG appointed Mobilise to provide a major support programme, Power Up, to its non profit community partners. This was aimed at addressing local organisations’ specific needs, and creating opportunities for VCSE organisations to be stronger, more impactful and resilient.

Our Approach

Mobilise developed a review process for organisations that were referred into the programme by SNG, followed by creation of a detailed action plan based on each organisation’s needs and priorities. We worked with our partners Plinth to develop a Community Investment platform – a CRM to ensure support of organisations could be coordinated; application, review and action planning tools;  an online resources platform to host video guides, and tools; and webinars supported by a  bookings portal. These resources covered a wide range of topics including  strategy and planning, fundraising, governance, impact , community engagement, and digital tools. Our team delivered support through a combination of workshops, mentoring and learning sessions.

Impact

The Power Up programme ran from November 2024 to March 2026, supporting 25 organisations and developing 18 guides and tools. Feedback showed that the Power Up Programme was instrumental in supporting community organisations to be more effective, and sustainable. Organisations said that they would not have been able to do this without the Power Up Programme due to a lack of  knowledge, skills, and funding. Importantly, many said that this support delivered impact because it was tailored to their organisation and context. Participating organisations valued our approach and felt that the Mobilise team understood their work, helped them to realise where they could develop, and delivered the project in a supportive and energising way.
